Let's talk about The Machine for a moment. Born in 1986. I am the owner since September 2006. Pretty sure we will become good mates. As long as we keep our noses in the same direction. Hardly any electricity on board, which should prevent mysterious electricity short circuits or voltage dividers that suddenly catch fire. Instead of these problems there is only a kick-start. A kick resulting in a running engine. Life is not always perfect. The more often you kick it the better it starts but I do think about that morning in Patagonia, kick kick kick and a coffee or two.

Jan man! Sorry I missed your going away party. Nice website, I will check in from time to time. Talked to John, he said he was planning on attending your party. When do you plan on arriving in the Seattle / Vancouver area.
Ride safe!

Hey Jan,
so the prep work is done and the yourney can begin.
Good choice for the bike, all you need is a spark and some fuel and it will run. Don’t worry about kickstarting it. I grew up in a time no one could imagine an electric start on a bike and when I had my first bike with an electric start in the sixties, Honda fitted a kick starter as well. Anyway, I admire your courage to leave ‘civilized’ life for some time and to go for adventure. Loes and I will follow your progress through this great site. Best of luck.
Hey Jan, laatste keer elkaar mis gelopen in A’dam. Ik lag ziek in bed! Helaas… Hoop snel te lezen op deze website hoe jij en je machine de oversteek hebben overleefd!
