Life after Buenos Aires

02041 kms On the move! finally....

The trip started great - we had packed the moto and had everything ready for an early start and that night we had one of the worst rain and thunder I have ever seen in my life! It rained for 12 hours and the swimming pool was almost overflowing because of all the water. Lightning struck the vicinity of our house three times, and there was no electricity after lightning struck the line... But finally it stopped raining at about noon and we were ready to go!! The first time la moto had to carry so much weight but everything went really well. Buenos Aires was getting too wet, so we were heading for dryer weather! At every traffic light people yelled from cars "where are you from/going to", we draw quite a lot attention...

After leaving Buenos Aires we headed for "La Pampa", Argentinians farmland. Hundreds and hundreds kilometers of it. And we have seen now with our own eyes why Argentina exports so much beef - we´ve never seen so many "vacas"... And they were vacas holandeses so we had lots to talk about. And if you think the Netherlands is flat you should see this side of Argentina!

A couple of hundred kilometers from Buenos Aires we found San Carlos de Bolivar -fun town, great places to eat and drink. On the saturdaynights the people from Bolivar give performances on the main plaza. It was like seeing Idols Live - hilarious! Some were so incredibly bad that it was difficult watching..
Also the next day we saw many cows, and hardly any people. Its weird... If anything should happen to the moto in these remote areas we wont be found for many weeks... the more west we drove, the more of these things we found.

One thing we didn´t count on was the temperature. In and around Buenos Aires it was always so hot that we thought it would stay this way. But the closer we got to the Cordillera de los Andes the colder it got. Every so many kilometers we had to stop to put on more cloths - we looked like bears in the end and were still cold! Finally after 4 days of travelling we arrived in Bariloche. Great town on the foot of the Andes, snow-capped mountains, beautiful lake... and freezing cold! In winter this is a skiresort and it looked like we had arrived in winter (well, minus the snow then). Matias, man, I agree with you that Bariloche is fantastic, but we have to leave soon to get warm again!!!

To prevent automatic spam in the comments you have to answer this silly question. I'm very sorry about this.
